The objective I chose from Healthy People 2020 was Outdoor Air Quality. Poor outdoor air quality is said to be linked to premature death, cancer, and long-term damage to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.

Ever since we watched that movie on the petroleum plant causing major health affects on the people living around it, clean air is something I don't take for granted. It is amazing to think that many diseases and other health problems people have may be the result of the air people breathe in every day. If I am understanding this correctly, H.R. 97 is trying to ensure clean air without taking into consideration greenhouse gases. I think that there are certain things that cannot be controlled in our air because they are created from the earth. BUT, some greenhouse gases are man-made so they should not be exempt from this act. If we are going to attempt to have cleaner air, everything making it unclean should be taken into consideration.
